Housekeeping: doodlemonger.com Design Mods & Additions

The current design is beginning to wear on me...

You may notice a few design tweaks today: I've changed the primary body text font from Trebuchet to Verdana, and added a Pull quote to individual entries to spice things up a bit. The pull quote is a nifty little CSS-based element that stretches well and helps me delay my urges to scrap the whole thing and start over.

The current design is beginning to wear on me; most notably the liquid width of the body text area, spanning the entire screen. I've noted that many sites presenting a large amount of text onscreen have opted for thinner column-based presentations to make the text more readable. I may go the way of minimalistic fervor, stripping everything down and rebuilding from scratch. I won't have much time to do this in September, as I'll be off for two weeks in San Francisco gaining professional certifications of sorts.

The last time I redesigned was a little over a year ago, and that design launched doodlemonger.com into the sexy sexy world of CSS-based layout. I hope to strip away the needless clutter in the redesign, and achieve something evolutionarily simpler in doing so.

When can you expect this? Who knows. But the orange and red at full browser width are beginning to rub me the wrong way.
