Go: The Lesson Continues

I continue to be entranced by the elegance of this game...

I feel that Go is beginning to change the way that I think about things. In Go, there are interdependent, concentric groupings of ever-expanding spheres of consideration that begin with the immediate concern and scale in layers of abstraction outward to encompass more comprehensive strategies involving the entire board.

I find that the most effective strategies emerge when these spheres complement each other; that is, when the placement of stones on the immediate scale forwards the flow of the larger group, which contributes to the encirclement of ever more space (or one's opponent), which alters the balance of the entire game.

I continue to be entranced by the elegance of this game and the model of thought it engenders.
